DUMFRIES & GALLOWAY. . . .
is one of Scotland's best kept secrets with its unspoilt coast line, varied countryside and mild climate influenced by the Gulf Stream. The roads are quiet, the towns and villages provide lots of things to do and see, but above all you will find the people friendly and helpful.

If you prefer an active holiday there are hills to climb, paths to walk, golf courses to conquer, pools in which to swim, and fish to be caught. For those who like to potter we have Castles, Museums, Art Galleries & Craft Centres and many beautiful Gardens to explore.

TWYNHOLM.....
is a working village with a School, Church, Post Office, two pubs, The David Coulthard museum(The Pit Stop), a garage and a village store bursting with hundreds of different items - almost everything from a pin to an elephant!

KIRKCUDBRIGHT.....
with its wide streets, castle, harbour, galleries & museum has a good selection of shops, pubs and eating places.

HOW TO FIND US (click for Multi Map link)
From Dumfries take the A75 , follow the signs for Stranraer. Twynholm is approx eight miles west of Castle Douglas. As you by-pass Twynholm with the village on your left you will see a sign pointing to the right which says Glengap, turn right, follow the road for approx 2 miles passing Redfield, Lower Lawn, Moorhead Cottage, and Mark Corner and ignoring all turnings to the right, or the left, until you approach Trostrie Farm when you will see on the wall in front of you, a green and yellow sign for Trostrie Cottage pointing to the right. Turn down through the farmyard and 300 yards at the end of the lane you will see your journey's end.

There will be a welcome on the mat!
